EV Charging Stations in Da Nang
Da Nang has two different kinds of place to top up an electric vehicle: charging points, where you plug in and wait, and battery swap cabinets, where you trade the flat battery for a charged one. They are not the same thing, and which one you need depends entirely on the bike you are riding. Here is how to tell them apart and how to find both.

Charging point or swap cabinet?
Both give the vehicle its energy back, but they do it in opposite ways. One keeps the vehicle; the other keeps the battery.

Renting one of our bikes
Swap cabinets. The Evo MAX Lite and Feliz MAX both use removable batteries, swaps are included in the rental price, and you get 3 free swaps per battery per day. You will not need a charging point at all.
You own a VinFast bike with removable batteries
Swap cabinets too. Swapping is faster than charging and the cabinets run around the clock. VinFast bills this through its own V-GREEN battery subscription.
A car, or a bike with a fixed battery
Charging points. These are the ones you plug into, and they are what most people picture when they hear 'charging station'.
Where the charging points are in Da Nang
They are not in dedicated forecourts of their own. Operators put them where cars already stop: supermarket and mall car parks, petrol stations, hospitals, resorts, and public car parks. Every central district has some, the coastal strip is well covered, and there are stops on the road up to Ba Na Hills and on the way south to Hoi An. Most run around the clock.
Numbers change from month to month as operators add posts and open new sites, so the app is the only place worth trusting for a live count - and for whether a given station is free right now.
What the kW number means
Stations list their ports by power. That number is the difference between a coffee break and a night's sleep.

Times are rough estimates for a compact EV going from about 10% to 70%. Actual speed depends on battery size, temperature and how full the battery already is.
Stations that are easy to find
Most stations are named after the company that runs them, which tells you nothing about where they are. These ones sit at landmarks you already know.

Three things worth knowing
- check_circleHead for a cabinet showing two or more charged batteries. If down to its last one, somebody may get there before you.
- check_circleGo when the battery is around 10–20%. Below 10% the bike can cut power, and there is no reason to run it to zero.

Are there EV charging stations in Da Nang?add
Yes, plenty - they sit in supermarket car parks, petrol stations, hospitals, resorts and public car parks across every central district, and most run around the clock. Do I need a charging station for a rented electric motorbike?add
No. Rental bikes here use removable batteries, so instead of plugging in you swap the battery at a cabinet in about a minute. Swaps are included in the rental price, up to 3 per battery per day.
Can a charging station charge an electric motorbike?add
Some sites have slow 3 kW outlets alongside the fast car chargers. But bikes with removable batteries - the Evo MAX Lite and Feliz MAX among them - are far better served by a swap cabinet: about a minute, against hours on a slow outlet.
How fast are the chargers in Da Nang?add
Most ports here are 60 kW or 120 kW - roughly 45–60 and 20–30 minutes respectively to take a compact EV from about 10% to 70%. A few stations go higher, and some also have slow 3 kW outlets. Each station lists its ports in the app.
How long does charging take compared with swapping?add
Charging a battery fully takes about 5 to 7 hours and the vehicle stays put the whole time. Swapping takes about a minute and you ride away immediately.
Why do electric motorbikes here swap batteries instead of charging?add
Because the battery comes out. Once it is out of the bike, charging it no longer has to happen while you are waiting - the cabinet keeps a stack of them charged and you simply take a full one. That turns a few hours into about a minute. Cars and bikes with fixed batteries cannot do this, so they still plug in.
Are there stations on the way to Hoi An or Ba Na Hills?add
Yes. The Le Van Hien road heading south to Hoi An has a station at a petrol stop, and there is one at a car park on the way up to Ba Na Hills. Check the app before setting off - sites do change.
